About

MING DESIGN STUDIO was Founded in Amsterdam by industrial designers Zhiya (Yona) Huang and Mingshuo Zhang, who both graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven. Fascinated by the eastern and western narrative beauty of craftsmanship, cultural understanding and the power of industry, the Studio merges innovation and human touch into hands-on experiments, finding meaning and emotional connection within and through daily objects.

With years of experience working with different industries, they have been experimenting and designing across different categories including furniture design, accessory object design, installation to technology product innovation, and so on.

The Studio has collaborated with international brands and their works have won many awards including Red Dot, iF, Gmark, IDEA, among others. The Dezeen Awards 2020 awarded their Bold stool as the highly commended ‘Seating design of the year’.

MING DESIGN STUDIO 由均毕业于艾因霍芬设计学院的黄稚雅与张明硕共同成立于荷兰阿姆斯特丹。带着好奇心及多年的产业经验，他们不断尝试在实践和试验中找到事、物于特定语境中的识别性与存在感，并将有意义的创新与人文触觉相融合。

不论是非遗再造，亦或是科技创新，工作室都视其为特定文化背景下的翻译工作，并将其转化成适合当下且能被长久使用和感受的体验设计。

在与国内外不同的品牌合作中，他们也获得多项包括Red Dot, iF, IDEA, Gmark 等产品设计国际奖项。其中BOLD STOOL 坐具设计也荣获 2020 Dezeen awards highly commended: Seating design of the year。
